We are seeking a GCP Lead Platform Engineer to spearhead the establishment of a new high-performance engineering team in Chennai. This is a senior-tier architectural role focused on building and optimizing a production-grade cloud platform. You must be an engineer who understands not just how to deploy services, but the deep mechanics of how configuration parameters dictate GCP service behavior for the end-user.
Note on Candidate Profile: This role requires a dedicated Platform Engineer capable of setting up complex services from the ground up with expert-level precision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Platform Foundation: Lead the design and implementation of core GCP infrastructure to support enterprise workloads.
• Expert Configuration: Define and manage various configuration parameters for GCP services, maintaining an in-depth understanding of how these settings impact system performance and user experience.
• Infrastructure as Code: Utilize Terraform as the primary tool for provisioning and managing modular, scalable, and repeatable cloud environments.
• Security & Governance: Implement best-in-class security practices and networking architectures, including VPC and Cloud DNS.
• Observability: Leverage Google Cloud Monitoring and Logging to ensure full system observability and performance tracking.
Required Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge is mandatory in the following core GCP services:
• Compute & Storage: Compute Engine and Cloud Storage.
• Data & Orchestration: DataProc and Cloud Composer (Managed Airflow).
• Automation: Advanced Terraform proficiency.
Preferred Skills:
• Networking: Deep understanding of VPC and Cloud DNS.
• Containers: Experience with GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) administration.
• Security: Demonstrated experience in cloud security practices
